Guest Post... Best Diaper Bag Ever!

Grandma also made "Katie" a new diaper bag! She picked the fabric all by herself and I (I mean "Katie") LOVED it! It has pockets inside for diapers/wipes, cell phone, and two other small pockets. There is an outside pocket for a bottle or Mom's waterbottle. Love it. If that wasn't enough, there is a matching CHANGING PAD!  Grandma can probably do a better job with the specifics.  We love our new bag!  It will double as a bag/purse even after we exit the "baby" stage!

Guest Post.... Baby Dress

The dress Grandma made for baby girl was great... but as all babies do, she GREW! So we chose more fabric and Grandma made yet another dress, this time in a larger size! Can't wait for warmer weather!

Guest Post... New Carrier Cover!

A friend of mine is getting ready to have a baby... her FOURTH! So exciting! So I asked my mom to make her a Carseat Cover like mine! Here it is!

Guest Post... High Chair/Shopping Cart Cover

Grandma made Katie some pretty special gifts for Christmas!  One of my FAVORITES is the high chair/shopping cart cover.  The one we used for the boys was blue & broken (after years of use, one of the buckles just broke!).  It was well-loved and we wanted one for our new little one!  Enter Grandma & her amazing sewing skills!

The polka dot print is the "outside", she sits in where the circles are

Another pic.  You can see the "pocket" and the strap where toys can be attached!

First time using our cover!  Unfortunately the restaurant was a bit dark...

She sat up very well in her chair + cover!

Thread Bowls

My newest sewing project is thread bowls. They are eye catching and can be used in various ways. When I finished my first one, I put my fresh fruit in it on the kitchen counter. These are made from material and are reversible and I was told they are washable but have not done that myself yet. If not in the machine, I know they can be hand washed. They start out as you see above with 2 squares of fabric, either the same on each side or 2 coordinating fabric, one on each side of a shaping interfacing and a pattern. After some pressing and sewing, here is the finished product.

The Mizzou ones would be great for snacks while watching the game. I'm trying some Christmas ones thinking they would make nice decorations with colored ball ornaments and possibly a candle but not to light!!!!

Holiday Bowls
I also made a smaller bowl and a leaf bowl that would easily be a candy dish but I made mine to hold my business cards my daughter had made up for me at the craft show in Moberly, Missouri Nov 11-12.

I have also been making some pot holders in Christmas and fall fabric All of this is to get ready for the craft show.
Holiday Potholders

I had a price poster made for my craft show!

While visiting my daughter in Texas, I purchased pieces needed to put together a sewing work place. You can see my unfinished Mizzou pot holders there.  Thanks to my son-in-law for putting the drawer section together and my husband for finishing it when I got it home. Everything  has a place!!!!
Potholders... a work in progress!
New desk

Better get back to sewing. If you are in the area, hope to see you at the Moberly Craft & Gift Show at the MACC activity center Nov 11-12.

Pillowcase Dress (minus the pillowcase!)

Finished product!

Happy Baby!
So my daughter enjoys the idea of making dresses for her new baby.  She found a simple pillowcase dress pattern that uses 1 yard of fabric instead of a pillow case (http://www.aroomsomewhere.net/2007/07/pillowcase-dress-tutorial.html).  We measured the length of this dress to be a bit long on baby girl, as we are hoping it will fit for a LONG time!

Baby Bloomers!

Personalized baby bloomers!  So cute!  Putting my new sewing machine that is capable of embroidery to good use!
